DONNA-LEE MCLELLAN RSW,BISW, MISW,LCPC
As a young Indigenous woman, I faced many challenges. Like all Indigenous people, racism and the impacts of colonization coupled with the multi-generational impacts of Indian Residential Schools were at the forefront of the struggles I faced. Although the road to my own healing journey was not always a straight line and some of the detours were more complicated than others, the journey inevitably led back God. I continually learn and grow by reading the word, praying, and listening so I can pass on a positive perspective to my clients.
In 2026 I completed my BA in Sociology degree followed by my BA in Indigenous Social Work and my Masters in Social Work to become a licensed clinical therapist in the field of mental health. Now, years later, I dedicate many hours to my clients, working with kindness, discretion, respect and integrity, helping many people find their own personal healing along the way.
My spiritual journey started when I was 12 years old and have relied on God to help me through not only positive events in my life but some of the most challenging and hurtful experiences. I put my trust and believe that through God you can overcome anything. Matthew 19:26: "with God all things are possible".
Understanding that every single person has a unique story and their own individual path to travel, I offer a trauma informed, faith and spiritual based approach to therapy. I will support you on your journey using my learned knowledge of Western techniques, knowledge of spirituality, and a warm heart filled with compassion.
In my quest to ensure that I can offer the best to all clients, I am continuously expanding my knowledge in the mental health field. Most recently, I have earned counselling certification that is geared towards a spiritual/faith based therapeutic approach.
